Hello, I am Manus Merriman, a 24-year-old artist and designer from County Wicklow, Ireland.

​Inspiration comes in different ways...
To me, mystery is better than knowing all the time. I am inspired by the mystery of ancient Irish stories, the land and its history. It manifests in my work through the lens of the modern age.
History, science and theology fascinate me. They explains the world around us, the patterns, and the complexity of everything.
Artists that inspire me are people like Andy Warhol for making art for the masses, Jim Fitzpatrick for pseudo celtic nostalgia and Guy Ritchie for his unique approach to storytelling.
Different mediums…
Making art accessible to people is key for me. That’s a big thing for me, to make art that people want. Whether it's through skin, or a rigid format like social media platform, or film, I see people’s wants as criteria or formats that I can work my art and design into, in ways people haven’t thought of.
I create specifically for different formats rather than as an afterthought. Doesn’t matter the medium.
Collaboration…
I’ve worked with many different clients across the music, fashion, product design, event, and tattooing industries. Working in my own style but within the client’s criteria, I’ve learnt to maximise the design potential of a client’s ideas. This collaborative process is enriching for both me and the client.
Branding…
Careful branding and marketing of my work is key, so my brand Forever New Fades is across all mediums that I use now and in the future.
And finally...
My work respects our heritage but pushes boundaries in the unique perspective I use across different mediums. I also believe there’s beauty in making things for their own sake. It's as important as function. That’s meaningful to me.
